My Calla Lily, 2026

POEM OF THE WEEK
Wake
eventually
tethered lines weaken
elasticity dries
plastic crumbles
beliefs dissipate
in the wake
new realities formulate
life and death
compare and contemplate
the past and future
for i am not where i began
the wounds i sutured
guide me as i travel
unknowingly and diluted
of where an end
reveals birth again

ABOUT
Francis King-Harvey was born and raised in the urban neighborhoods of Philadelphia. He studied studio art at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa. In his art, King-Harvey plays with representational and abstract imagery to provoke a deeper questioning of identity and what it means to be black in America. King-Harvey does not rely on one medium as he believes the world is too vast for containment. A variety of mediums allow both the artist and the viewer to have unique experiences. His art-making journey started when he was young and dreamt of being an architect. With time and age, that desire evolved into a love of creating thought-provoking experiences. He is excited to see how his art will impact him and improve other areas of life and its meaning. As a conclusion to his undergraduate career, King-Harvey was featured in an Art exhibition in the Spring of 2021 at the Susan & Benjamin Winter Visual Arts Center at Franklin and Marshall College. King-Harvey's "Regality: Issue I - Do You See US" exhibition is now available online under the "PROJECTS" section.
